Rename Attribute 1 and define the trait vocabulary. These labels are remembered for the entire solve.
Why? The Sea Wolf case renames Attribute 1 to a domain label (e.g. "Temperature tolerance") and uses a fixed set of traits. Setting them up once keeps every step consistent.
Tip: Open the Key in your assessment and copy the traits into here. Add every trait the case lists — you'll need them all when categorizing microbes.
Site 1 — characteristics & set filters
Enter the site's attribute ranges, the desirable trait, and the undesirable trait.
Heads up: the desirable and undesirable trait cannot be the same. Pick different traits.
Site 1 — species categorization
Enter the stats for a microbe and this will tell you whether to move to current site, move to site 2 or remove.
Routing rule: A microbe with the undesirable trait is absolutely unfit and is routed to Site 2 (if it matches the insight) or removed. A microbe whose attributes fall outside the microbe fit range is also unfit and removed. Otherwise it's routed to the current site.
Site 1 — prospect building
Enter the 3 microbe options for this round. The best option is highlighted automatically. Click "Next round" to move on — a microbe is always selected (the best one).
Selection rule: Avoid microbes with the undesirable trait. Prefer microbes with the desirable trait and attributes inside the site range. The highlighted microbe is the best in this round.
Site 1 — final selection
Pick 3 microbes from the pool. You can edit any microbe's attributes/traits or delete it, then use the scoring algorithm to auto-select the best three.
